This landscape was part of a larger project for the home, which included a full design & remodel of the 1500 sqft existing basement to include all modern amenities such as a living/entertainment room, upgraded mechanical space, gym & sauna, new stairwell. IVY Studio reimagined & managed the construction of both the interior & exterior portions, which involved careful planning & coordination between the project phases. A critical consideration for this project was the drainage plan, which remedied what was formerly a bare lawn due to soil saturation which directed stormwater back towards areas of the home. IVY responded by installing new foundation window wells, french drains and large drywell to ensure the grading was done properly to avoid future water problems. 

In the frontyard, the driveway approach was updated with new cobblestone aprons & borders and a gracious walkway leading to the front door. The backyard was regraded to expand a new play lawn, perfect for large family gatherings or kids ball games. The former boulder water feature was rebuilt to include new plumbing & focal lighting, drawing attention to this side of the yard. The walkout of the house includes a raised patio terrace, flanked by New England Fieldstone walls and a central firepit, perfect for roasting marshmallows on a cool summer night. All new DCS appliances were installed to provide the homeowner with a gracious cooking station to sear, smoke & serve al-fresco under the stars.
