Faced with strict difficult zoning setback restrictions, Ivy Studio designed a free-form pool to optimize available space while enhancing privacy and aesthetics. The organic shape not only maximizes seating opportunities but also allows for layered landscape screening from the adjacent road, creating a stunning backdrop. At the heart of the design is a dramatic natural boulder waterfall, illuminated by integrated feature lighting. Each stone was hand-selected and tagged offsite by Ivy Studio, then strategically placed onsite to create a tiered, naturalized spillway that brings movement and sound to the space—anchoring the entire landscape with a sense of place and tranquility. Hand-chiseled quartz coping edges the pool, chosen for its soft, complementary tone against the surrounding concrete pavers and its unique texture which blends beautifully with the natural materials throughout the site.

An extensive planting palette of hardy perennials was selected to suit the varied sun conditions across the property, ensuring year-round visual interest and a thriving, sustainable landscape. At the project end, IVY Studio consulted with the Owner & gardening team to ensure that the new plantings were incorporated into a routine plant health care program for the property.
